Director of Marketing & Communication
Binaytara Foundation (BTF) is a global cancer non-profit committed to minimizing cancer disparities through education, advocacy, and innovation.
BTF seeks an inspirational leader with exceptional communication skills, experience, and a deep understanding of modern-day non-profit communication needs to join our leadership team as the Director of Communication and Marketing. We are looking for a driven team member with a positive attitude, a caring heart, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of individuals and families suffering from cancer – in the United States and globally.
Our projects include a multi-channel cancer education program focused on educating healthcare providers and cancer patients about the most recent advances in cancer care and a global oncology program focused on developing sustainable cancer programs and services in resource-poor communities.
The Director of Communication and Marketing will be a key member of the leadership team primarily responsible for strategizing, implementing, and evaluating the communication and marketing efforts to grow the impact of our following projects:
- Continuing education conferences,
- Medical journal – The International Journal of Cancer Care & Delivery,
- The Cancer News website,
- BTF’s game-based continue education activities, and
- Global oncology program in Nepal.
Travel Requirement: This position may require travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience managing a marketing and communications team.
- A demonstrated career progression in marketing and communication at a non-profit or for-profit organization.
SKILLS
- Proficient in marketing, analytics, CRM, content management, and other tools and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe apps, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Tableau, Salesforce, Canva, WordPress, etc.
- Effective time-management, people management, and crisis management abilities
- Critical and creative thinker who is open to out-of-the-box ideas and innovations
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Director of Marketing & Communication will be tasked with developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies for the organization to amplify the impact of our project and ensure that unified, consistent, inclusive, and positive messages define and promote the organization’s identity and mission.
- Put in place all long-term and short-term performance goals, strategies, objectives, and outcome metrics for the communication & marketing needs of the Binaytara Foundation.
- Identify the need for marketing and communication team development, recruit team members, provide leadership to the team, and manage day-to-day activities of the Marketing and Communications team, including supervision, professional development, and evaluation.
- Establish strategic communication and marketing plans in partnership with the senior leadership to support the overall fund-raising efforts of the organization
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate critical messages and themes for fund Development activities, including the creation of fundraising brochures and materials as needed.
- Write compelling case statements to build awareness and inspire giving for Binaytara Foundation’s global oncology programs.
- Establish communication and marketing strategies in partnership with the patient and provider education team to amplify the impact of the education programs.
- Oversee the design, creation, editing, and dissemination of all communication, marketing, and promotional materials through various channels, including digital media, printed media, social media, email marketing and e-newsletters, audio-visual graphics, and websites.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of paid and free digital marketing campaigns such as Google AdWords, Microsoft Advertising, Social Media Advertising, etc.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to promote and positively represent the organization through internal and external communication with inclusive, engaging, and consistent messaging.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for communicating on behalf of the organization that represents, promotes, and supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values, including preparing correspondence, talking points, and scripts for the organization.
- Seek new methods and creative strategies to increase internal and external awareness of the organization’s ongoing projects and events.
- Work collaboratively with the technology and web management team to ensure that content for all organization-owned and managed websites is updated, relevant and consistent with the Binaytara Foundation’s commitment to inclusive, accessible communication to reach a diverse audience of supporters, volunteers, partners, and other stakeholders in the US and globally.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of all communications efforts and make recommendations for improvement, including insights into best practices and current trends.
